September 1, 2020 - League Membership Requirement Update
To: Thruway League Members and General Public
From: Thruway League Board of Directors
Subject: League Membership Requirements Status Update
Previously it was communicated that the league intended to implement new league membership requirements and communicate them by August 31, 2020. Generally speaking, the new requirements will be based on a club’s ability to meet a standard of best practices for player development, coach development, and club administration. Development of the new requirements is still actively in progress. As such, the requirements will not be completed by the originally intended date. Until they are completed, the league will continue its current position of tabling any existing or new applications for league membership.
Sincerely,
Thruway League Board of Directors
August 31, 2020 - Team Acceptance Criteria for the 2021 Season
To: Thruway League Member Clubs, Teams, and 2020 League Applicants
From: Thruway League Board of Directors
Subject: Team Acceptance Criteria for the 2021 Season
The Board of Directors of the Thruway League has decided on the acceptance criteria that will be utilized for the 2021 season. Given that the 2020 season had to be cancelled due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the following criteria will be used for acceptance into the league for 2021.
- Any team from a League Member Club will be accepted to play in the league.
- All non-member teams who were accepted for the 2020 season and who maintain at least 51% roster continuity relative to their 2020 roster will be accepted to play in the league.
- For the 11U age group, only teams from League member Clubs will be accepted to play in the league.
All teams who were accepted for play for the 2020 season will need to apply for the 2021 season. Applications must be submitted between November 1, 2020 and December 1, 2020.
Should it later be determined that additional teams are needed to fill out league divisions, the League will communicate an application window to the general public.
Sincerely,
Thruway League Board of Directors
